PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsibilities include identifying, designing and delivering
automated solutions for software quality assurance and IT
processes/services. You'll work closely with our IT product team,
infrastructure and client services groups on identifying and
prioritizing opportunities for software-based automation.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Software Quality Assurance Automation -- Partner with IT Product
teams to help develop an automated regression testing repository
for Tier 1 business applications. You'll focus on understanding &
prioritizing testing automation of critical functions in the
software (3rd party and custom developed) to reduce the risk of
service interruptions due to software quality issues.
Automated Testing Tools -- Partner with infrastructure teams to
identify, implement and administer automation tools. Develop
processes and systems that will facilitate the development and
management of an automation capability at Simmons.
Modernize IT Processes. You'll work across IT Product,
Infrastructure, Client Services, Networking and Technology
Operations teams to identify opportunities to implement automation
across the department. Automate cloud compute/storage provisioning,
contribute to CI/CD pipelines and more in this role.
Educate & Mentor. Serves the IT organization broadly as a thought
leader around automation concepts and opportunities. Scale our
automation capabilities through others by identifying appropriate
skill sets in team members and providing guidance/assistance in
Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing
development, communication and implementation of team concepts,
programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices
with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a
member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major
issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack
cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and
working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and
actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve
synergy possible within the larger organization.

Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer.
Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates
with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person,
and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large
groups. Must be able to work in various temperatures. Move about in
an office or manufacturing environment and surrounding property.
May travel via car or plane to various work locations.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting the
Travel: Approximately 10-15% travel, including travel to Simmons
facilities, one to two offsite classes or conferences per year, and
to Simmons offices. Must currently possess or have the ability to
obtain a passport.
Technical Experience: 5+ years of experience in Software
Development, IT Quality Assurance, Robotics Process Automation or
in a similar role.
Industry Experience: Preference for food processing
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Services,
Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree or
4 years equivalent experience.
Preferred Education: MS degree in Information Services, Computer
Science, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree.
