SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to provide direction and effective engagement to Plant Maintenance and Operations Managers while providing technical guidance to maintain optimal performance and continuous improvement efforts in the themes of Maintenance and Reliability. Responsibilities include the responsibility to facilitate the sequence of events and activities to drive meaningful and sustained improvement in Asset Reliability, including Planned Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance practices, tools, and approaches. Ability to connect maintenance activities and needs to large capital projects. Work with the plants on managing OEM equipment PMs task lists manuals and spare part requirements while working in coordination with Design Project Managers and other SME s to ensure life cycle asset management on new capital equipment acquisitions. This position will conduct numerous regional training events as well as travel to plant locations to provide leadership communication, process training, and on-site structured problem-solving. Responsible for the reliability process knowledge library document controls and other internal and external website content related to developing and sharing best practice maintenance policies and procedures. Working with reliability engineering in the tactical and strategic activities of implementing strategies to improve the reliability of components equipment and processes

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Teams to identify, quantify, prioritize, and implement world-class practices focused on Total Productive Maintenance & Reliability Centered Maintenance concepts
  • Conduct process line and plantwide reliability assessments
  • Conduct numerous regional training events, as well as travel to plant locations to provide leadership communication, process training, and on-site structured problem, solving
  • Facilitate maintenance planning scheduling processes across multiple locations
  • Develop strategic asset utilization and management which includes line and plant rationalization; equipment utilization methods; labor resource analysis and use of vendor partnerships and support
  • Identify additional opportunities for Tyson through benchmarking analysis of industry and institutions in the domain of Reliability and Maintenance
  • Support Capital Plan Management at production facilities through project filtering, prioritization, and maintainability evaluation of proposed assets. Includes connection with Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and Information Systems teams and others as applicable
  • Coordination of the company's shared resources to implement initiatives related to Reliability and Maintenance, including Engineering, Information Systems, R&D, FSQA, HSE, Procurement
  • Collaborate with other teams across the enterprise as needed (e.g., HSE, CI, FSQA, EIM, HR) on creating and embedding sustaining methods to maintenance and asset reliability practices, A background in industrial refrigeration, harvest process, digitalization rendering, and other related fields will be utilized to engage plants in the maintenance reliability process
  • Manage relationships with core external vendors, partners, and programs such as Water Treatment, Predictive Services, Condition Monitoring, Property Loss/ Risk, and Mechanical Integrity Evaluations
  • Utilize and drive corporate standard reporting and processes through KPIs, Maintenance and Reliability Performance measures, Equipment level budgeting, and other methods for improving plant efficiencies, yields, and costs.
  • Work with Maintenance teams in the business to maintain master data compliance in CMMS recording standards.
  • Attend regular corporate-level meetings with the SAP-PM group and other design engineers to ensure alignment of corporate lead programs
  • Enforce development and use of standard maintenance processes and strategies while tapping into plant process knowledge, OEM guidelines, and SME's recommendation for idea-sharing practices
  • Encourage individual growth promotion and succession planning programs
  • Conduct numerous regional training events as well as travel to plant locations to provide leadership and process training.
  • Responsible for the reliability process knowledge library document controls and other internal and external website content related to developing and sharing best practice maintenance policies and procedures.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • Education: B.S. in a technical field engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
    • Experience: 8 plus years of Industrial Maintenance Management and/or Reliability Engineering with a minimum of 4 years experience in the food industry.
    • Computer Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI; MS Project, SAP-PM, and or other CMMS systems.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are mandatory; will be facilitating operations change in diverse groups.
    • Special Skills: Possess a good working knowledge of food manufacturing operations systems and process controls. Must have a customer service business attitude; ability to work in an unsupervised environment answering multiple internal customers at all levels . Capable of supervising a team of Reliability Engineers and Reliability Associates to stand up and sustain Reliability Concepts at plant locations. Training and presentation skills are required.
    • Certifications: CMRP, CMRT, CRE, Six-Sigma are a plus
    • Supervisory: Includes the supervision of several Reliability Engineers and Reliability Associates
    • Travel: 50%+
