SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading cross-functional project teams across campus. This is a key position which is highly interactive across the U of A Fayetteville campus. The successful candidate will leverage a strong understanding of the systems, tools, and networking in order to successfully complete projects.

Duties to include:

* Provides Project Management for University of Arkansas IT projects

* Coordinates communication across teams and to all levels within campus IT

* Works with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure scope is explicitly defined and documented

* Develops and revises project plans and budgets, tracks project and budget status

* Identifies and negotiates a resolution of issues, escalating as necessary

* Ensures project tasks are completed according to established timelines

* Supports intake and discovery for networking and infrastructure projects and other projects as needed

* Manages vendors utilized on the project

* Works with IT Services change management and communication teams to ensure appropriate end-user enablement strategies are developed effectively

* Bachelor s degree in business, management, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

* At least three years of experience successfully managing IT infrastructure and/or network projects on time and on budget

* Experience working on a variety of Information Technology related projects (examples: Networking, server virtualization, storage, VoIP, ERP, software development) and project management life cycles

* Familiar with Agile (Scrum and Kanban), Iterative and waterfall project management processes

* Demonstrable experience creating and maintaining project documentation including, but not limited to: schedules, work breakdown structures, issues, and risks assessments, budget reporting, follow up reports, team communications, and overall project reporting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor s degree in Information Systems or a related field

* At least five years of project management experience managing Infrastructure and Network projects and/or other IT projects

* PMP, ScrumMaster, Six Sigma or similar certification

* Experience in a formal IT position, outside of project management (Examples: developer, DBA, technical team lead or manager, etc.)

* Experience working with construction projects that include IT requirements

* Experience with principles and practices of project management

* Effective process improvement and implementation experience

* Experience with developing contracts, RFP s, and technical specification documents

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Advanced documentation skills and some technical writing skills

* Experience and skills communicating proactively with team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization

* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, organizational skills and time management skills

* Strong customer service skills

* Ability to work in an environment where processes are being defined and contribute to overall development and improvement of project management processes

* Ability to collect, manage and analyze data

* Ability to perform with strong attention to detail on multiple projects at the same time

* Ability to identify, monitor and control risks within the project scope, manage dependencies and interfaces within and across a portfolio of IT Services networking projects
