The role of the RN Bed Control reports to the Director of Patient Access / AD. The position is responsible for overseeing the placement of patients. Works with moderate supervision. This position has rare exposure to body fluids and communicable disease. The majority of work time is spent sitting (up to 80% of work time). Performs heavy amount of repetitive motions utilizing computer keyboard and telephone. A culturally and linguistically diverse patient population is served including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics, with the majority being adults and geriatrics.

Education: High School Diploma or GED; Graduate from accredited nursing program
Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas RN license or licensed in a state that has enacted the RN/LPN NLC, and CPR
Experience: A good working knowledge of hospital scheduling procedures as demonstrated by a minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience in an acute hospital setting. Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task. Problem solving skills and promptly notifying the House Supervisor for a crisis is essential.
