Recording patients vital signs
Prepare and maintain medical records
Preparing patients for examinations, tests and treatments
Obtaining consent and explaining procedures
Collect necessary specimens from patient and prepare for processing
Perform any necessary CLIA-waived tests
Assisting the health care provider
Preauthorizing services in with insurance companies
Arranging/scheduling referrals to other providers or facilities
Clean room after patient use
Ensure exam rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies
Appropriately process soiled instruments
Assist front desk with daily operations, as needed
Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations
Promote a compassionate environment
Assist in achieving patient quality of care, national patient safety, regulatory agency, and budgetary goals
Resolve patient problems and needs by using multidisciplinary team strategies
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules and regulations
Serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population
This position has exposures to body fluids and communicable diseases. The majority of your time will be spent standing (up to 60%) and walking short distances (up to 20%).Licensure
You must be a Medical Assistant, LPN or RN with an active Arkansas license.Educational and Certification Requirements
High school diploma or GED
CPR certification required
2 years of previous experience in a medical assistant role
Previous phlebotomy experience preferredDesired Skills
