Summary: The Stroke Coordinator (SC) is tasked with leading,
managing, and providing strategic direction for the Stroke Program,
including financial oversight. This position plays an integral role
in the Performance Improvement and Peer Review Committee. The SC
will take the lead in neurology care, contributing to the
development and implementation of stroke prevention and early
response initiatives. Additionally, the SC is responsible for
maintaining the Stroke Registry, ensuring compliance with HIPAA
regulations for data submission, and preparing reports for
committee meetings focused on stroke cases. Collaboration with the
Emergency Department, physicians, and other members of the
multidisciplinary team is essential. All responsibilities should be
carried out in alignment with our mission, values, and service
standards. Qualifications: REQUIRED Education: Must have graduated
from an accredited nursing program (Associate’s Degree, Diploma, or
BSN). Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current RN license in
the state of employment or possess compact licensure, fulfilling
all state board of nursing requirements.
Certification/Registration: BLS certification is required. Skills &
Knowledge: Proficiency in program management related to data,
operations, presentations, and budgeting. Strong public relations
skills and the ability to foster professional relationships with
EMS, media, and referral hospitals. Familiarity with State Data
Dictionary and Registry Software is essential. Basic computer
skills, including Microsoft Office, are required. Physical
Requirements: The role necessitates the ability to push, pull, or
lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Prolonged standing and walking are
required during shifts, along with the ability to grip, reach,
bend, kneel, twist, and squat. Experience: A minimum of 2 years of
acute care experience in neurology is required. PREFERRED
Education: A BSN is preferred, along with a strong educational
background and evidence of continuing medical education (CME) in
