Job Description Job Description Overview of the Registered Respiratory Therapist Position: The Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers essential respiratory care to patients in accordance with physician directives and serves as a knowledgeable resource for healthcare professionals regarding respiratory treatments. This position necessitates the completion of an accredited respiratory care program, state licensure, and certifications such as RRT and ACLS. Key responsibilities encompass patient care, collaboration with physicians, and the operation of respiratory care equipment, primarily in critical care or emergency environments. Collaborates with physicians to assess the effectiveness of treatments. Functions as an advanced resource for both physicians and nursing staff regarding respiratory care. Undertakes additional assigned responsibilities. Position Details: Qualifications: Experience: Preference for candidates with critical care experience. Required Education: Must be a graduate of a CoArc accredited Respiratory Care program. Preferred Education: Certification in Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is advantageous. Certifications/Licensure: Must meet state licensure standards and possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For those working in the Emergency Room, PALS certification is required. Other: Physical demands include the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 10 lbs, and perform minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
