SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

The Mental Health & Performance Clinician provides mental healthcare (e.g., assessment, prevention, diagnosis, intervention, treatment, education, crisis management), and mental skills performance consultation to the department s student-athletes, either directly or indirectly, through coaches and other healthcare providers. This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director of Mental Health & Performance for Student-Athletes and work collaboratively with team physicians and performance team.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

* Master s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning

* At least two years of clinical experience working with college populations

* Maintain a current mental healthcare license in the State of Arkansas or license-eligible within 9 months of hire

License (or license-eligible within 9 months) as a psychologist, counselor, or social worker in the State of Arkansas

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited doctoral program and completion of APA accredited internship

* Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)

* Experience in a university counseling center

* Experience working with a diverse student-athlete population

* Experience utilizing a time-limited model of care

* Experience working with Division I athletic departments

* At least one year of counseling experience working with Division I or professional athletes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Knowledge of and adherence to all mental health confidentiality laws/rules, as well as all applicable laws (e.g., HIPAA and FERPA)

* Excellent oral and written communication, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and analytical skills

* Ability to work with athletic trainers and team physicians in integrated, collaborative, and comprehensive healthcare while maintaining client confidentiality as clinically indicated

* Ability to provide relevant consulting and outreach services to coaches, athletic trainers, team physicians, and staff members

* Ability to work with minimal supervision

* Ability to develop and maintain good standing with businesses, community groups (on and off-campus), local, state, and national levels to further relationships and enhance programs for student-athletes and staff
