SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES

The School of Social Work at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor (CAP) of Social Work. This is a 9-month CAP position. We seek applicants who demonstrate the ability to work with diverse populations as well as contribute to the diversity of the campus and who are well prepared to teach courses in a thriving, cutting- edge and accredited School of Social Work.

Job responsibilities would include:

* Teaching four (4) online classes per semester, in both BSW and MSW programs and across at least two (2) curricular domains (HBSE, practice, policy, and research)

* Service to the School of Social Work by serving on committees and mentoring and advising students.

* Providing support for the Child Advocacy Studies (CHAS) certificate and minor program, including coordination, program development, maintenance, student support, and attending relevant trainings.

Although all classes are delivered in an online format, the CAP position is a full-time faculty position and would require the same daily time commitment as those teaching seated classes.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL RELEVANT APPLICATION MATERIALS INCLUDE DETAILS ADDRESSING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS. APPLICANTS NOT MEETING THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM CONSIDERATION.

* MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program

* At least two years post MSW practice experience

* Eligibility for Arkansas state licensure (LMSW or LCSW)

* Teaching experience or evidence of potential for excellence in this area

* Demonstrated worldview consistent with social work values and ethics

* Demonstrated strong interest in and a professional commitment to the preparation of professional social workers

* Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality

* Experience teaching online OR demonstrated strong interest in teaching online with experience using a University Learning Management System (e.g. Blackboard) as a teacher or as a student

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Experience in course development

* Practice in various settings and at various levels (e.g. direct service, administration, and policy)

* Demonstrated interest in serving as a field instructor as needed

* Excellent communication skills

* A record of effective interdisciplinary collaboration in research and/or teaching

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS POSITION
