Job Posting: Phone Operator: Communications (Full Time) Employment Type: Full Time Location: Washington Regional Medical Center - Fayetteville, AR Department: Communications PBX Shift: Other FTE: Job Number: JO-2103-41945 Date Posted: 3/15/2021 Categories: General Support POSITION SUMMARY: The PBX Operator for the Communications PBX Department requires a motivated individual to provide phone support for a busy 24/7/365 call center while adhering to HIPAA regulations and demonstrating sound customer service skills. The PBX Operator responds to incoming calls in a timely manner and directs callers to the appropriate personnel utilizing professional, courteous, and individualized customer attention. Protection of patient confidentiality and privacy must always be observed. Additional responsibilities include timely and accurate processing and paging of hospital codes, call team notification, monitor and initiate protocols for life safety alarms, provide complete and detailed documentation as part of emergency code and call team notification processes, Applies knowledge of commonly used terminology, concepts, practices, and procedures within the hospital. Must be cheerful, informative, willing to go the extra mile to deliver quality customer service and demonstrate a willingness to work all shifts as needed including weekends based on a work schedule prepared one month in advance.SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Excellent communication skills, data entry, must be organized with strong attention to details, call, page and document at the same time, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing, strong verbal communication and listening skills, effective problem solving, ability to make quality, independent decisions, attend required training and maintain competencies through review and testing. Must be a true team player, work cooperatively with leadership and teammates, demonstrate a positive attitude at all times and be an excellent representative of our amazing organization. Experience with Cisco Phone systems, alarm monitoring and previous call center experience is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent, appropriate English usage, typing 60wpm, spelling, grammar, prior experience in customer service. Physical ability may be required to articulate speech and manual dexterity for longer than 8 hours depending on workload requirements.
