Sanitation / QC Tech 3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 10:30 pm - 7:00
am Summary Cross trained for Sanitation and Quality Control Tech
positions. Quality Control tech tests and inspects products at
various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates
statistical data to determine and maintain food quality and
reliability of products. Sanitation keeps working areas in
production departments of industrial establishment in clean and
orderly condition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include
the following. Other duties may be assigned. Quality Control Tech
Collects the production paperwork. Verifies the production room has
been sanitized and swabbed. Selects products for tests at specified
stages in production process, and tests products for variety of
qualities such as dimensions, performance and chemical
characteristics. Records test data, applying statistical quality
control procedures. Recommends modifications of existing food
quality or production standards to achieve optimum food quality
within limits of equipment capability. Assures compliance to all
applicable regulatory agencies including USDA, FDA, Bureau of
Weights and Measures, State and Local regulations. Maintains
current HACCP plan of both USDA and FDA products. Sanitation Clean
and sanitize drains and floors. Uses chemicals and equipment to
sanitize and clean multiple areas. Disassembles, sanitizes, and
cleans pipes, pumps and other production equipment. Transports
trash and waste to disposal area. In certain areas, sorts and place
leftover pallets in designated area at end of the shift.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must

certificate from college or technical school; or three to six

instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills Ability to
calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic
algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals. Computer Skills To perform this job
successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of
computers and the ability to input data into a computer. Physical
