SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
The Archeological Assistant will serve as a research station
assistant at Southern Arkansas University. Duties include fieldwork
(requiring in-state travel), data analysis, collections processing,
record keeping, supervising volunteers in the laboratory and the
field, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station,
all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential
job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial,
harmonious working relationships with others.

* Bachelor s degree in Anthropology/Archeology or a closely related

* Knowledge of North American archeology east of the Rocky
* Skill in conducting archeological survey, excavation, analysis,
and report writing/publication
* Ability to create programs and materials for use in public
archeology/education outreach programs and activities
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS POSITION
The following physical activities are associated with the position
